Servo & Electronic Sales Celebrates 70 Years
Servo & Electronic Sales Ltd is delighted to celebrate our 70th year of trading. Starting from a small high street shop in Orpington, Kent on October 12th 1953, we have grown and expanded moving to offices on the Lydd Highstreet, and then moving to our current location, Connector House, Lydd in 2007.
In 1953 Arthur Egan, our founder, incorporated a business specialising in Servo motors and electrical components, having identified a gap in the market. Using his specialist knowledge and business acumen, he was able to grow the business and Servo soon outgrew its shop in Orpington. This prompted a move to Lydd, where Arthur started to expand the business to become increasingly electrical connector focused. Arthur would soon be joined by his son Robert and together they increasingly grew the electrical connector side of the business. In 2023, after a restructure, Robert would depart the business and the franchised stock division of Servo became our sole focus. We continue to work alongside our various partners, which include Eaton Souriau, Fujikura DDK, Yeonhab, Spacecraft Components and Amerline Enterprises to grow our presence across industries including Military, Industrial, Rail, Space and Military Vehicles.
Our current board of directors’ compromise of Paul Black, Abby Carter and Mark Greenwood. Abby, as granddaughter of Arthur Egan and daughter of Robert Egan, is the third generation of her family to serve on the board and Arthur’s family still own the company. As a family company, it is important for us to continue this link with our heritage while at the same time moving forward.
With 70 years of knowledge behind Servo Connectors, we sure know a thing or two about connectors and this is greatly supported by our wonderful team, who are all connector crazy!
We would like to thank all of our suppliers, customers and staff from the last 70 years without whom we would not be here today, and look forward to continue working alongside you as well as welcoming new customers and partnerships.
